Kids Voting Ohio’s Statement of Principles Regarding Education Policy

Kids Voting Ohio, as an organization, supports teachers and concepts that lend information explaining all aspects of voting education. We support in a nonpartisan manner, local district control of teaching, instructing, promoting, and advocating for programs that center on race, racism, sexual orientation and gender identity in Pre K-12 schools as they relate to voting and civic education. Kids Voting Ohio also supports public schools, state agencies, colleges, and universities offering teaching, instruction, or training on these inclusive issues or the acceptance of private funding to promote such concepts.

We believe Kids Voting Ohio can fulfill its nonpartisan mission of thoroughly explaining the role of our government systems and the history of the American voting process with education policy that supports the instruction of the concepts listed above as they relate to voting and civic education. We do not support policies that could undermine democracy.
