Schools around Ohio can now be recognized as a Champion of Democracy School!  These schools will demonstrate an outstanding commitment to democratic principles that have shaped our nation for over 250 years.

QUALIFICATIONS

To earn this prestigious designation schools must participate in one of both of the following options:

Option 1

Successfully organize the completion of at least one mock election during the academic year.

Option 2

Hold one Voter Registration Drive with 50% of eligible students registering.

RECOGNITION

Schools that achieve this honor will receive a Champions of Democracy plaque to display on-site, along with a digital logo for use in virtual communications, celebrating their dedication to fostering civic responsibility.

By completing these activities, schools will not only be honored as Champions of Democracy but will also help build the next generation of informed and engaged citizens.
