Who We Are
Kids Voting Ohio is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that serves Ohio schools through voter education and preparedness, promoting civic engagement, and increased family and community communication about citizenship. Kids Voting Ohio is an affiliate of Kids Voting USA.
Why Kids Voting Ohio?
In Ohio, voter turnout is the lowest among voters between the ages of 18 to 29 and lower than our neighboring states in this age group. At Kids Voting Ohio we are committed to creating life long voting habits in children. We believe this is possible by providing students with necessary voter education, government function education, and all the resources necessary for informed civic engagement.
All programs are FREE to Ohio schools, educators, and students.
Our Mission is to provide all Ohio students with the education and resources necessary to understand the role of local, state, and federal governments and the American voting process.
“Kids Voting Ohio gave me a platform in high school to feel connected to our larger democracy before I could actually vote. Kids Voting was a bridge to my civic engagement before I ever dreamed I’d be Columbus’ City Council President.”
- Shannon Hardin, Columbus City Council President
